I can’t justify trying to stifle my kid when he notices or is interested in something because I’m scared of the world. I certainly don’t want to make him afraid of everything either. In addition I’m a very public person already, and nobody is confused about whether I have Bitcoin or not. There’s not going to be some super risky data leak because my 2 year old is hanging out with other 2 year olds that isn’t 1000x larger from 1000 other, more important, areas. And when he’s 7 or maybe 10 years old I suspect that every kid his age will know what bitcoin is and most of their parents will own some.
I feel I have to have a little perspective about the relative risks, where they are likely to originate, and what the cost of spending energy being concerned over them are.
I also just generally refuse to carry around a permanent and complete distrust of the world. Instead I focus on ensuring that I don’t cut corners on all the practical and direct ways that I protect my family and myself.
TL;DR My kid can say Bitcoin and I’m not gonna worry about it.
