My favourite homestead chicken breed. The partridge chantecler. I've been raising this breed since 2012 in Ontario Canada. Why do I like it so much? Natural broodiness, good forager, big carcass, decent layer and very cold hardy. Only downside is that it is still fairly rare and hard to find decent recruits for outbreeding. But things are changing. #chickens #homestead #homesteading #grownostr

Nice, light bramas?

Nice cock.

Here is mine.

Beautiful birds.

Can you explain a simple technique to prevent “too much” inbreeding in a flock is it as simple as rotating roosters? Or something else, something better? I don’t presently raise chickens but want to.
