degoogled phones are mostly great. the only downside is if your banking app needs to run a certified OS or if you need to use google wallet for NFC mobile payments. sadly you need a CTS certified devices for that.

wow
That's why I use two phones.
That's the right solution!
Or use this phone 😀😀😀

i have my old nokia 918 still. sadly it won't work as the analog networks are dead 😟
Design isn’t what is used to be.
Great! This definitely can not be infected with "Pegasus" 🤣
A lot of powerful and rich men uses "dumb" phones. This phones are getting popular again. See the price of the former cutting edge Nokia 8810 phone
Yes it was NMT as I remember. The 2110 was my first GSM phone. And it works now!
You are right. BTW: ot all banking apps, but most of them.
So you have to use two mobiles 😊
Or a better solution to use webapps, like the nostr webclients on mobile
On the other hand I don't use even banking apps. Intentionally. This is an another kind of dependency. So if ylu use them, you can forget the word "privacy".
good point about webapps. sometimes they suck, but it's better than zero access. i still have many fiat based bills to pay and will be dependent on banks for the foreseeable future.
Anybody have to find the balance between the privacy and dependency.
So I dare to declare that the dependency is a kind of laziness.
Conclusion: Privacy/freedom vs. Dependency/laziness
my banking app (actually a credit union) works great on lineage os. i don't think i can do nfc payments though.
Great! I use LineageOS too (but w/o banking apps)
