"We spend our lives trying to be prettier, smarter, more perfect, as if that could bring us closer to the love we hope for. But I understood two essential truths.

Those who truly love us look at us with the eyes of the heart, and in their gaze, our qualities flourish far beyond who we really are. On the other hand, those who choose not to like us will never be satisfied, no matter how hard we try to conform.

That's why I believe, with deep serenity, that we need to make peace with our imperfections. These are the ones that make us unique, the ones that allow those who see us with their heart to discover our true essence and, in it, the beauty of imperfection." - Frida Kahlo.

It's not really imperfection then, is it? All subjective. The beauty of our uniqueness, I prefer to say.

It's funny how many women believe that "imperfection" is something real and yet that fondness is a shared illusion. What does that say about that person's psychology? Maybe their conception of what "more perfect" is is what is limiting them, not their pursuit of greater perfection. Food for thought.
