reason 274b to go to a small autoparts store with old crochety dudes behind the counter that actually know how to work on cars...

I learned the reason rats eat some engine wires is because the wire coating is made from soy and peanut byproducts.

And according to John, one of said old dudes, "whatcha gotta do, is go down to the dollar store, and get you a big can of that Aquanet hairspray. then spray the shit out those wires, and they wont touch em. they also hate dryer sheets, and irish spring soap."

Buying Irish spring

dude says, “take yer potato peeler, and shave off flakes of irish spring into places they go.”

i also used expanding fireblocking foam to close off routes. that worked.

I like that foam stuff

True! I forgot about the dryer sheets.

i dont know.

i suspect what the rats dont like is the chemicals. which is also probably why i dont want it on me.

Bump for dryer sheets. Cheao way to winterize a car, rv or cabin.
