My hybrid has a comparable battery to my e-bike :)

The ICE is generating most of the energy on long trips, the battery is just holding the energy from regenerative braking.

Little battery, big difference. I have gotten 3.3 litres per 100 km highway driving in the hybrid, my Mazda would be double that, and the heavy old Mercedes would be triple.
