Indeed. Sadly, this is the way things have been working for a long time. Here, where there are many intelligent and willing people, we have a hard time agreeing on what the goals we should/must work toward should be. The status quo is difficult to challenge, and we want/don't want change. Furthermore, the individual opportunity cost makes it even more difficult.
Sorry, the article left me somewhat pessimistic and my analytical tendency sometimes hits me hard.
Ideally, these types of articles are clarifying. Focus up on what is important and keep putting that out there... over the top Pollyanna, I know.
