Bastiat may have stated something which is true, volontary fraternity is what is to be pursued, this for sure. And capitalism has nothing to do with fraternity --- Is Bastiat a capitalist? it feels more like a capitalist who doesn't want the state between the balls so they can become richer and richer

I don't think true fraternity (which is voluntary) can be had under a regime that forces redistribution. Taxation isn't charity, right? So the only way to achieve voluntary fraternity is for people to choose *which group* they wish to fraternize with.

I agree with this .. but you are seeing what he writes as someone from this century, in his century, those people who had money, had money not caused they earned it, cause someone before them plundered someone else and left it to them
