My issue is with using their software ecosystem more than the hardware, but they intentionally wire the two together pretty tightly, making it a lot more difficult to use freedom software than alternatives. Ethical hardware is being built but it's still less common/available than open software. I don't think perfect is yet possible, but Apple is as bad as it gets on this issue.
