I don't particularly like running, I never ran as an adult until this last year. I found out after doing it for a while, I don't mind it and some mornings I look forward to doing it. My motivation is my wife and kids. I had surgery a year and a half ago. I may have been born with a bad valve and I can't fix that, but I can do other things to help any other non valve issues creep up.

Is Bad valve + running a good idea?
I had valve replacement done. I was born with a narrow valve and had it stretched open at 3 and then replaced at 41. I'm part pig now. Oink. My cardiologist said I have zero restrictions over and over again. When I told him I was running he was impressed and happy and told me to keep going. πͺπ»πͺπ»πͺπ»
π nice, porky valve can last you at least 20 years
Did you go with the pig valve so you could drink alcohol? I've another friend who said he could have gotten an artificial valve that never needs replacing, but if so he wouldn't be able to drink alcohol.
My surgeon said he preferred pig over mechanical otherwise I'd need to be on blood thinners the rest of my life.
Itβs funny. Iβve heard the same from friends than run in that it took them a while to like it.
Family is a great motivation. We want to stay healthy to enjoy the hard earned sats with them in the future.
Have a great day!
