Petroleum plastics are poison. I'm reducing my exposure to them by eliminating how much synthetic stuff I wear.

Yeah that's fair.
If you end up getting a zip up jacket, make sure the zipper tape and zipper aren't synthetic since that's an often used touch point.
Natural material jackets also may still use synthetic materials for interfacing on collars and cuffs for stiffening but usually those are encased in between the layers of fabric so it might not be touching you as much.
Yup. I'm less worried about those kinds of things, but... I also would prefer not to have those.
