Fumes from the galvanised steel are bad and then it's gonna rust.

And they tell me the stones might blow up but I've never seen that happen.

Very nice concept. Have you checked out the wisdom of cast iron Dutch ovens? We’d go hunting, bury one in the ground with smoldering coals on top and underneath, and come back later to some meat falling off the bones yummilicious. Takes some equipment but outstanding way to cook many things. 🫡
