It's worth it if you transact enough money to make it worth it. If you're just using it for zaps, it's kinda hard to justify the monthly 21k sats. Most people don't zap 21k in a month. So you're paying more for the privilege of zapping with Alby than the total amount of sats you're transacting.

Don't get me wrong, Alby is an amazing platform that provides a ton of features, and a great user experience with the monthly subscription, but I think you have to look at your monthly transaction volume and weigh that against the premium for using the platform to determine if it's a reasonable expense.

Oh, monthly? I thought that was yearly!

No, that's monthly. When you first sign up, they charge you 10.5k sats for each of the first 3 months. Starting on your 4th month, the fee goes up to 21k sats per month. I used Alby for 2 months, but decided I wasn't transacting enough volume to justify the coming fee increase. If it stayed at 10.5k sats, I'd probably still be an Alby user, but I just couldn't justify 21k sats per month.

If you can, maybe set -up your own alby hub?

I wonder what they will do with me. I have a total of 28 sats in my Alby account, which I use for nostr key management in the browser.
