Using Tinder to find a potentially serious relationship is truly like panning for gold in a river of shit. It requires lots of patience, & it's gross the whole time. But the network effect is large enough that most people try it at some point, so if you craft your profile to repel the garbage & be a breath of fresh air to the sane girls who will probably delete the app after a day or two, it can work.

Isn't Tinder just a hookup app? If I was looking for relationship, a site designed around one night stands wouldn't be my first go to.

Just my humble opinion. YMMV

Tinder & others are whatever you use them for. I'm not looking for hookups & have met quite a few wonderful people that I am still very happy to have gotten to know

"probably" 🙃 I doubt that sane girls stay on there long enough to stumble on a sane guy. Who knows, there might be exceptions, but I would not count on it too much.

I have met quite a few very sane & very intelligent girls via Tinder & Bumble.

Did they delete the app? If they were sane & very intelligent you would have had no reason to keep meeting the other ones 😏

Sane & intelligent doesn't mean we were necessarily meant for each other or that we wanted the same things.

My time on tinder was great. Met some interesting people over the course of a year or so, no 1 night stands, and eventually met my now beautiful wife of 4 years. Tinder is just a tool. The way in which you use it is what will determine your results.

"Great" is not really a word I would use to describe the experience of using most dating apps. Something great in my mind is a thing I will at least remember fondly. I will be more than happy to delete them forever one day. But I very much appreciate that such tools exist, & I have definitely met some great people who I would not have met otherwise.

Fair enough!
