Or you want to be able to pull full res videos and images on demand?
Do you all think synology home stations are worth it or is it better to just build or buy a used PC?

Videos and images. I run things on an old ubuntu pc for now but the synology experience seems to run as much as an old PC so I was wondering how people think about it. Maybe it's just a size/convenience thing.
