Things just work more smoothly in the Apple ecosystem when your phone and PC are Apple devices. Plus, kids acc management for reasons I stated before.
I give my kids DeGoogled, locked down Graphene phones. They are a pain to manage, but I'm willing to fight the fight to keep their data private, and only on our family server.
Going to Linux and Graphene would be a huge inconvenience to me. A waste of time to manage and that’s not something I take lightly.
Linux is easier to install and manage than MS Windows. Has been for years.
GrapheneOS, with your own self-hosted Nextcloud online ecosystem is a pain to set-up. You have to set every app and syncronize across all your devices, but after it's all setup, it's not so bad.
