I just happen to have a really long freakin drive coming up & I'm hoping to see #[2] after said long drive.

Finding out who'll show is half the fun though.

I already know I'm not going to see you 2 bozos though.

Are you bringing me bananas again?

That was obviously me. Iris is very glitchy for me just now.

Nah - did it all in 1 hit

17hrs - it's still Wednesday to me

Nice work! I love a road trip. Let me know if you are going to drive to the Cairns BB.

I did the math & will be taking a plane to that one.

Fair enough… is it really further to Cairns than Beechworth? Or is it that Beechworth you guys would be multiple flights or fly to Melb and still a long drive?

On a seperate note, did you see Laz’s post regarding a new societal charter? Maybe taking lead from the Magna Carta or the constitution. I think that’s worth some deep thought and collaboration. Start with the end in mind.

It's only 100km further than Beechworth for me, but the roads are not as good. It was an 18hr trip yesterday & while I have no regrets, I may not drive it for a while.

Cairns will be my first flight in 3 years. It's hard to justify the time allocation for driving.

I haven't read the social charter post. I'll go looking for it.

Thanks, I’m such a noob I’ve only just worked out where to find replies to conversations. I guessed Beechworth and Cairns would be similar distance but yes, very time consuming and if travelling alone likely a similar cost in petrol to flights.

Did you find the social charter post? I’ll see if I can find it. It’s definitely worth some thought as a community. I’m currently reading the sovereign individual and if it’s forecast about moving to sovereign communities vs nation states, it’s worth some effort now to envision what the charter for a Bitcoin community would look like.

The diesel when split between 2 was a bit cheaper than flights (150-160L each way). It's nice to have your own car & to be able to take my grill & Esky with me. Not a fan of being trapped in a flying tin can & abiding by their rules.

The largest cost is the time consumed with driving. I think 8-10hrs is acceptable but 16hrs is too long for a single destination that doesn't require a vehicle. Apparently there's only so much Bitcoin to discuss in a single sitting with 1 Bitcoiner & 8-10hrs just about covers this.

Laz posted the charter suggestion last week. I’m trying to work out how to repost and tag you but I’m not having much luck.

It worked & I've given my 2 sats worth as a reply.

Ultimately our social structures will be decentralised but we should be able to agree on the high level principles that are important to all of us.

I think this will occur via a Schelling

point in the citadels rather than through an appointed committee.

I can live with anyone who respects my property, privacy & preferences. Truth/Bitcoin is the thread that runs through everything linking it together.
