Will need a follow up on how you liked it!

ooh! someone gave me some tallow-based cream that I really like.

We're not yet set up well enough to experiment with these kinds of things, but I'm curious how it works out for you!

First impressions, its very nice and absorbs well into my skin. Has a faint tallow smell, but the essential oil i used helps to mitigate it.

I've been making body butter out of primarily wagyu beef tallow for approaching a year. I was using lard, but I transitioned from 99% lard, to 50/50, to 99% tallow. I add a little jojoba and/or sea buckthorn oil and some essential oils. I even use it on my face with no problems (FYI I have rosacea so my face is sensitive).

Yes i'm gonna try it on my face after my shower today, looking forward to it.😊

We made some sunscreen with tallow last year. It worked OK but it needed a lot more of the sunscreen than what we put in it.

What recipe do you think you will use next time?

I don’t remember the exact recipe we used but it was mostly tallow and had zinc oxide as the sunscreen. My daughter also made a little batch with some cocoa powder added as kind of an instant tan look. It went on nicely and felt good on our skin. I don’t recall how much zinc oxide we used but we still got burned so I remember thinking I would triple the amount next time.

I’ve been looking for some whipped tallow that’s plain so I can add my own essential oils… I have some that has orange oil and smells amazing so I couldn’t resist, but I usually try to avoid citrus oils because of photosensitivity. Plus I have a skincare / wound healing blend of oils I whip up myself and would like to use.

I used tallow that i made myself, the fat came from the half beef that we bought last summer. I froze it knowing that i wanted to try this. For this batch i added a little almond oil, only because the vid i watched recommended adding a little oil. I'm happy with the result and will play around with different essential oils to see what i like best. But texture and feel on skin is great.
