@Eimi_LTY @DrJessTaylor the EU has 500 million people and nowhere in any of those great civilized nations with a great standard of living is the age of consent higher than 16.

Historically that was the norm in the US too. It still is in many US states.

@Eimi_LTY @DrJessTaylor for 1000s of years Jews welcomed 13 year olds as adults in their community. so 14 and 15 year olds got married and started families. I don't think we should do that here now, but ffs let's acknowledge that puberty changes children into adults. Basic biology.

@Eimi_LTY @DrJessTaylor Amy, pretty much, half a billion Europeans accept 15 year olds as young adults. That must concern you a lot. Why don't you talk to some of them? Why don't you find out how they manage to not infantilize 16 and 17 year olds, some of whom have full thick beards?
