I can't stand it when people say, "I got some money from the government to help me pay for ____".

When really they ought to be saying, "I got some money back from my own tax and from my fellow taxpayers to help me pay for ____" or "The banks pumped more money into the economy through lending, which increased inflation so I need to take more money out of the pockets of fellow taxpayers to help me fund my lifestyle".

The ignorance drives me crazy! 🤪

I might not have said all the above in the right way at all. Just quickly typing a thought 💭 that has come up for me for the hundredth time in recent years.

Exactly! Many people don’t truly understand how money and taxes flow, which leads to a lot of misunderstandings. The truth is government money is ultimately people’s money and taxpayers’ money, so we should view it with more responsibility. These clarifications are important so everyone understands the story behind every form of assistance.
