I’ve read something truly pathetic today on LinkedIn: a letter by a fan asking and pleading for Robert the beleidigte Leberwurst to come back and do more damage. It was full of emotional warmth and heartfelt bullshit. Cringegeddon. He got truckloads of likes for this pathetic piece of sucking up. I think he deserves to be Robert’s close friend. My prayers are with him.

I left 20 years ago. Back then, things were still pretty good in Germany. But Mutti Merkel did us in. So I am happy I left, but still upset about what’s happening.

The Green base has a strong righteousness belief system that was built over 1-2 generations. It's not easy to get away from it. Real environmental sustainability is much more nuanced than preservation-protection-regulation. It doesn't require drama scenarios and collective morality. It demands individual freedom and responsibility. And that shatters worldviews.
