Sure. More efficient public utilities (private) help solve this. And it’s not about providing Maslow’s needs, it’s about influencing the overall Spiral.

Perhaps. I think there are several ways. I preferred to remove myself out of the system. Slowly loosening reliance on institutions and corporations that provide those needed basic goods and services. I grow my own food at home now. Solar powers my home. People can hopefully learn that they don’t need much to live well.

I live in a city. That is not going to solve anything. Efficiently run utilities is probably the quickest solution. The majority of people cannot remove themselves from society.

I get it. I can only control what I can. I live in the mountains in Switzerland. I work with what I have around me.

Privatising utilities for better efficiency requires that you have reliable and trustworthy companies/people to run it. Do you believe such people exist in your city without running over people for profits?
