Because all I could think while morons were paying over $300 for a transaction was, "Good! Let the stupid burn their money and make massive donations to the miners. This shit will blow over within a week..."
I think Runes are the 'designer license plates of Bitcoin'...an equally pathetic display of wasted capial and narcissism. Or, to borrow a phrase, "shitcoins on Bitcoin."
But hey, maybe that's just me...
IDK why we don't consider a BIP that make shit like Runes and Ordinals simply cost a lot more vs. allowing them to increase the cost to everyone in the block. Now I am not a coder and I do still get change one line fuck up 1000 lines so there may be reasons, but why not at least consider?
You want to transfer BTC = cheap (relatively)
You want to inscribe bullshit = expensive
Basically they get the back of the line if a block has non stand transaction space, and pay a premium for it. Then their "rare sats bro, so rare" can be even more rare and more expensive and we all win. 🤷
