## PSA: Announcing Wikifreedia 0.0.6

Codename: WOT-ALL-THE-THINGS

* Categories!

Q: "What is deemed to be a category?"

A: "Whatever *you*, and your web-of-trust, deem to be a category."

Decentralization includes no top-down decision of what **categories** should or shouldn't exist.

* Further decentralize by allowing users to indicate which relays they want to use for wiki entries.

Where can I find a primer on wikifreedia? A YouTube intro? I’m curious what the use cases are

It doesn’t exist. Yet.

Too hard for sign up. How about anon just go account?

i think needs a better name… for some reason the freedia doesnt fit at all

I'm looking to write some technical articles that help individuals set up privacy related tools. Do you have any articles that are currently published I could use as a guideline for how to best use your product?

I found a bug: If you're reading an entry and then hit the back button, all entries in that category disappear.

Yeah, you need to reload; I need to fix that

Can an article be tagged with multiple categories? Also, is there a plan for links between articles? Can we tag with just an nevent id so that the link isn’t centralized under the Wikifreedia domain?

It uses the Wikipedia format of [[dTag]] so there are no wokifreedia specific hardcoded links 😉

This UI doesn’t support multiple categories but it could; I thought multiple categories would be too confusing though

should absolutely support multiple categories. categories == tags (or multiple "uplinks") basically.

"Decentralization includes no top-down decision of what **categories** should or shouldn't exist."

EXACTLY!!

To generalize further: Decentralization includes no top-down decision of ANY of our digital tools of communication. That includes lots of things, categories being but one of them.

How can web of trust curate a list of categories? DCoSL, that's how. Decentralized Curation of Simple Lists.

After lists comes graphs: Decentralized Curation of Simple Graphs, DCoSG. Why is this important? Because we need to organize wikifreedia categories into a hierarchy, with parent-child relationships. Smartphones is a sub-category of electronics, that sort of thing. Who’s gonna organize the graphs? Your web of trust.

Hey, look, I'm the Wikifreedia mascot!

I stand with fingercreamp!

ALL THE THINGS

EVERY OF THE THINGS

web of trust ftw

once again my man lesterpig, author of sporeDB and its successor pnyxDB leads the way with a weakly consistent, fast converging distributed database protocol already proven to work with over 200 replicas at speed - using... Web of Trust

seems that the old PGP guys were onto something as regards to distibuted systems and socials, and they never did nothing with it, nostr will bring it
