As much as I can't stand politicians, am a hardcore libertarian/minarchist, and despise the two party system, I just want to say that I don't think most people actually think this way.

I think a lot of people think "The guy I don't like is evil incarnate, hates me, will do everything in their power to destroy me, my family, my wealth, and my way of life and the guy I don't hate as much will do so to a lesser extent."

Most people just can't see that both sides fall into that first category. But I have met very few people who say the guy I like did nothing wrong

(Yes even most of my die hard trump fan friends don't like some of good policies, an example being his vaccine policy)
