I think that is oversimplifying things. Stopping Russian aggression in Europe is pro-freedom. (And don't give me any nutty things about NATO aggression.)

But since supporting a sovereign nations self-defence can hardly be called hawkish, maybe that is not what you had in mind?

I think being involved in any military alliance at all, trying to expand it, & sending money & weapons halfway around the world is completely opposed to the ideas on which the US was founded.
