Any good comic book/graphic novel/manga recommendations?
#comics
#content or content
I am rather content with these definitions of content ๐๐ฝ๐
The Barista this morning recommended Monstrous, said it was an amazing comic book. When I searched for it there were multiple by that name from different authors. ๐ฑ
Oh damn, that sounds cool haha wonder which one he found amazing ๐ค๐ฅธโบ๏ธ - ooo maybe that was his way of trying to get you to go back and ask him โบ๏ธ๐
I will always recommend one piece for my all time favorite.
Also Persepolis is a good graphic novel with a fantastic story of a woman living through the Islamic revolution
Yesss One Piece! - rather long, but would be an awesome read. Would you recommend the film too? โบ๏ธ๐๐๐ฝ
Damn Persepolis sounds amazing will definitely check that out, thank you Ben โบ๏ธ
Been watching the anime and havenโt got to the films yet.
Btw whereโs your lightning address? Have u not figured out how to enable zaps on damus yet?
Ah man my brothers love the anime, I watched a few episodes with them and got hooked ๐ฏ๐.
Ohh Iโm not sure, my bad i figured it would just be enabled already haha did I have to click something? ๐๐โบ๏ธ
Itโs fantastic ๐ฅ.
Yeah apple banned zaps so you gotta do the runaround. Download the damus TestFlight https://testflight.apple.com/join/CLwjLxWl
Then run this script by just clicking the link: https://main--comfy-gnome-e2067d.netlify.app
Ah man I wonder why they would do that ๐ฅบ๐ค.
Ohh I clicked on the test flight but it says I need a code to redeem/invite from a developer ๐ฎ not quite sure what this means
Berserk
Oh this is beautiful - I think my brother likes this one too! Will definitely give it a read ๐
Vagabond
Damn this oneโs beautiful too ! Thank you Ocean, rather excited to try this ๐๐๐ฝ
Youโre most welcome
Vagabond is more poetic and overall mood is brighter.
Berserk is dark Jungian psychological esoteric struggle. Mood often shifts from elation to horror.
Both are masterworks โจ
Haikyuu!! is amazing. I just finished reading it and the anime is just as good, though not finished ๐
Hey Jay! Oh this looks fun! I shall definitely be reading ๐๐ฏ
If you like a little thriller
Doubt / Rabbit Doubt by Yoshiki Tonogai
I LOVE thrillers, thank you! ๐๐๐ค๐ฝ
Daytripper by Moon and Ba
Damn the artwork on that is freaking cool, shall be checking it out, thanks ewok ๐๐ค๐ฝ
Hang on a minute. Is this a Bitcoin comic book? Thatโs amazing! ๐๐ฏ๐ฏ. Only 100 were printed apparently, so cool
For manga, Holmes of Kyoto, Wotakoi, The Savior's Book Cafรฉ Story in Another World, and anything by the manga-ka CLAMP.
Death Note
Yesssssss I love that, thank you! ๐๐ I watched the film and rather enjoyed it - I suspect the manga is better ๐ฏ
Great nerdy historical comic ๐ค

Oh damn, this onceโs been recommended twice now, means I got to read it ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ - of all of them I wasnโt expecting the one about math to be recommended twice haha thatโs how you know itโs good ๐๐ค๐ฝ๐
Honestly, there should be more comics of this type - describing the historical context in which discoveries were made. A way more interesting way to learn
Vinland Saga has been an amazing read. I'm towards the beginning of the 3rd arc and it's been an emotional rollercoaster
Zom100 and Chainsaw man have both been pretty fun.
Inside Mari was a trip (complete in 8 volumes)
Gleipnir also a trip.
My Dress Up Darling is adorable.
Way of the House Husband is hilarious.
I donโt know about anyone else here, but Watchman and V for Vendetta are classics. If you have the patience and depth of understanding old marvel from the 80s, Cerebus the Aardvark rips on it pretty well. I suggest High Society and Church and State 1 and 2.
Anything by Frank Miller or Alan Moore.
Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: The Killing Joke, and From Hell are all gold.
