I too like the word, even though it isn't officially recognized in English. But this is how language evolves. Slang becomes commonly used, then adopted. Some fun facts are that the current connotation first appeared in a newspaper in Boston in the early 1900s. The Oxford dictionary has a prior word meaning for it, of or relating to a class of small racing yachts. Personally, I like the slang meaning better.
