If you were not familiar with the term “Sonder” from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, now you are.

It is one of my favorite words/feelings.

had the exact feeling back in my collage years every time when I walk by the play field where others are running, playing basketball and soccer while I was rushing to lab to get my research work done. we're living in a same campus yet walking so different paths, which must also be full of struggles and happiness of their own.

thanks, now i know it's a sonder.

Whoa

not really, most are NPCs only thinking about the ball game

This.

I am the main character.

-so what does that make you guys?

there are many main characters, but not all

notably all the ones that ask this question are the non-NPCs

I'm glad you understand.

❤️ this word

I think this at least once per month. I didn't know it had a name.

Entropy is out of control

Rhymes with one my favorites: Saunter

Deep thoughts....

Wow never knew it was a word. How would you use it in a sentence?

Love it!

I will wander with sonder on this Sunday💜

I often feel this as I cycle through parks and trails, seeing barbecues, family picnics, or young couples sharing a moment under a tree.

I too like the word, even though it isn't officially recognized in English. But this is how language evolves. Slang becomes commonly used, then adopted. Some fun facts are that the current connotation first appeared in a newspaper in Boston in the early 1900s. The Oxford dictionary has a prior word meaning for it, of or relating to a class of small racing yachts. Personally, I like the slang meaning better.

Great word, never heard of it!

Wow. Great word 👌
