A few notes this morning inspired me to think about the importance of zaps on Nostr as opposed to notifications and/or likes.

What about the separation of notification and zap? 💡

Snort, and other clients, could have a "Zap" notification in the header.

On-click could lead to a screen with the user's zapped notes.

Obviously this is a brainstorming/WIP feature, and the shitty mock-up designs are proof of that but I was more so brainstorming how to increase the importance/relevance of zaps on Nostr and lower the importance of notifications/likes.

I like it!

Thanks for the feedback! Your note this morning was the inspiration for this note. I had to take a quick break from work to actually work on something I enjoy doing 🤙 💜

Might make sense to also show it in the profile

Agreed. I feel that there is room for improvement on the "Zaps" tab of the user profiles, maybe something to discuss over the weekend 🤙

This is a great idea! Puts the focus on zaps and makes them distinct from general notification.

It would also be very useful to identify where the zap was zapped. E.g. which piece of content received the zap. I can imagine in future, people will be zapping 'evergreen' content that is one, two, three+ years old.

LFG!

Agreed completely 🤙

I think there's room for improvement as to how the notes/zaps are displayed on the screen but a notification dedicated to zaps is something I am really supporting âš¡

Yeah, the zap is revolutionary. Every social platform has notifications but not zaps.

thanks so much for the feedback! not sure about the dedicate zap tab but I think we should add zaps to notifications, and also would be nice to summarise notifications so are more usable. When first implementing zaps they appeared in notifications and even in the feed (this would be too spammy today lol) but we removed them before shipping it, time for us to rethink and improve zaps UX âš¡

Pleasure! And sorry for not including you in the initial note, was having a local issue with tagging you this morning.

Agreed with your point of view and think focusing on zaps as being more important than likes is a good step forward 🤙
