Came back from holiday to a quiet house. Wife goes into bedroom and spots giant spider just resting on carpet between her and the bed.
She screams and I come running with a cup to trap and release. Missed the first time and it runs under the bed. Now she won't sleep knowing the monster is lurking there waiting for her to sleep so it can come out and terrorise her.
The next hour involves dismantling the bed, tracking the spider down, and annihilating it with sufficient evidence to talk my wife back into the bedroom, but not so much evidence as to activate her humane instinct and make me out to be the monster 💀
