To block YouTube ads, firefox needs and addon or extension.
Brave Browser does this automatically in the backround.
uBlock Origin is a mandatory extension. Even my mom uses it
The last I saw it was an addon but be that as it may, I know uBlock very well and it always caught me up on mail.com and a few others where the websites detected that I was using a web browser whicc never happens with Brave.
Just sayin'...
Firefox is also the default in Linux and Brave is a little lacking on Linux
