While not exactly the same, my previous job was fiber optic laser fab. And the process I was doing most certainly some sort of fucking voodoo. Allegedly a bunch of exrtemely deadly chemicals mixed with vaporized metals at high temp in negative pressure container somehow makes a laser on the substrate. Did it for 6 yrs and never was fully convinced that's what was really going on😂
