The defining characteristic of America is lust.

Let's just call a spade a spade.

Our leaders lust for sex, money, power, and control. They have an unquenchable bloodlust as evidenced by the endless wars we wage and the news we are presented day-to-day.

Virtue does not matter to people in power in the United States of America. The only thing that matters is power, and it has crushed the soul of the entire nation. Some might argue the entire world.

The entire system is set up to incentivize accumulation of power into a few hands. It should come as no surprise that the country is falling apart at the seams. Or perhaps it has always been desperately trying to hold itself together.

There is hope for the powerless in the US and around the world, though. History teaches us that empires rise and empires fall.

Power cannot stay concentrated forever. It eventually collapses under its own weight.

The scary thing about the end of empires, though, is that the powerful cling on to their former glory. They have no morality, so they decide that the ends justify the means, and if they must massacre the powerless to stay in power, they will not hesitate to do so.

It's pure evil what we're going through right now. And yet the story is as old as time.

What are we to do? Fight back with morality and virtue. Don't be like them. Win through your actions and not your words. Be good, kind, caring, and just.

Let the powerful destroy themselves. And don't ever let them break you.

It will take time, patience, skill, and resourcefulness. But there will be a beautiful world on the other side of this hell. A world that isn't defined by lust. A society where peace is possible.
