I just now hit the Join button from Amethyst, but the Communities tab is a total mess. It's full of groups I never joined, and the list keeps changing before my eyes. I'm sure your group is in there somewhere.
I guess people from almost any client can reply to a post in the group, but not create a new one?
I used flycat to create this community. On my side I see 50communities including mine. Please search for children_zone I am in there. I'll like to know ifanything I post is seen.
