Wow.

Being able to have different lists of users on Nostr it's a game changer. I took some time with Nostrudel yesterday to start making a few. When I feel asleep, I had left Amethyst on my list of favorite people. My first look this morning was only filled with Good Nostr, and it was beautiful.

Any client that doesn't fully expose this functionality to it's users (list creation, plus easily adding and removing people) is doing them a disservice.

Interesting

Coracle does lists well too.

Cool! I've tried to like coracle, but the interface just isn't for me.

Used that feature extensively on Twitter years ago to put together all the idols I was following.

Just the great and cute vibes and nothing else.

I had another just for wrestling things; podcasters, wrestlers and stuff.

It's such an amazing and helpful feature!

You belong on my Good Nostr list Rand, that's why you're on it 🤙

Anyone should be able to make a list for any reason they want. If you have hundreds or thousands of people you want to view content from, 1 giant list doesn't work, it's a mess of different things. Multiple lists make it possible to organize.

A list for family.

A list for friends.

A list for funny people.

A list for insightful people that make you think.

A list for news.

A list for sports.

Like a newspaper had sections, Nostr could have different sections, personalized for yourself. Sometimes I don't care about memes and Bitcoin, I just want to see what my friends are talking about. Sometimes I want just the news. Etc.

I think your getting hung up on "being put on a list" as a strictly negative thing. It's just an organizational tool, nothing more. It's neutral, neither good nor bad.

cool, t Y a gain/ya ^/makes sensenostr:npub1m64hnkh6rs47fd9x6wk2zdtmdj4qkazt734d22d94ery9zzhne5qw9uaks but again i have seen abuse of lists but l won't belabor atm #forwardfriend

It's like any tool, it's in how you use it. A gun can feed a family or kill a man. A hammer can build a house or break a skull. But that's not a reason to take either away from people. I think lists to organize your thoughts are much less dangerous.

Everyone already has a list anyways. This just gives them more. It's actually a built in part of Nostr already, just more clients need to support it.

just not digging the surround sound & record atm/may *B* in time i can alleviate those concerns - i value your reply/*****

I like Obtainiums way of displaying labels, it's a good compromise for mobile. Each label can have a colour assigned, and that makes it readily visible what categories an app belongs too. An easy to remember visual indicator of what I have that app tagged as. Something like this in Nostr clients would be helpful when dealing with lists.

Whats your process? I couldn't find an easy way using nostrudel to add to the lists

On the profile page the follow button has a drop-down that lets you manage lists.

ctrl+o and write Lists, you can also make a favorite a user list, the star on the list

Hmm, hassle. Need hover buttons on profiles. Coracle makes an overlay at least instead of having to open new tab or wait for page to load then go back to the feed you were on.
