Regardless of how realistic/accurate/reliable the assessment US government footage of UAV/UFO footage released in recent years actually is, I'd say the response from the public at large - which seemed to be "meh" - did surprise me. I figured it would get a bigger and stronger reaction.

Smudgy heat cam videos of jet backburners are underwhelming. After more than half a century of hoaxes and confused people telling us these smudges are something, we need a saucer above Capital Hill with some wee guy to come down and say "We come in peace" or "We will demolish your solar system to build an hyperspace interstellar highway. Sorry for the inconvenience".
