In a nutshell, it claimed that the reason the us gov is hiding the tech is because it would basically make anarcho-frontierism a reality - but at the expense of encryption, which would be rendered useless. The average schmoe could just weld together their own ufo and become Han Solo, never paying taxes again. (There was also something about immensely-powerful WMDs being made possible....)
