- stick your head in the sand and ignore it
- central parties in control restrict it
- central parties charge a toll
Which do you think will transpire with the nostr protocol?
My money is on paid relays with bandwidth limits on post/get or otherwise restricting costs of net out
Paid relays 🔥
It will probably go beyond just being a necessity. I would assume it will become a profitable business for those who can create a good technical product and user experience.
The added optionality of running your own relay is what makes the protocol different - but we will need sophisticated players to scale this to billions of people.
Taking a small percentage of every zap through your relay maybe?
