Today I learned that the US used to print $10,000 bills. In today's dollars, they were worth more than $230,000 each (based on CPI).

In 2016, former treasury secretary Larry Summers called for the end of $100 bills, saying it's too easy for criminals and terrorists to move lots of cash illicitly in large bills.
