Awesome idea. If you have the resources, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to put in some 6x6 shoring for the area you’re actively in and out of. You could incorporate the uprights into your shelving system and protect yourself from collapses. We had a gold mine a half mile from my old place back home and my parents nearly tanned my ass when they found out I was in it regularly with my friends.
