Bartender vs Mixologist
These terms sometimes get confused. Mixology is the art of creating drink recipes, making syrups and juices, setting up the bar for success, and making the drink for the guest. Bartending is the act of conversing with guests and aiming to create an atmosphere the guests will enjoy. My mentor has a quote: "Mixology ends at the end of the cocktail napkin. Everything else is bartending." Bartending is more important than mixology, as a guest will forgive an incorrectly made drink if they like the bartender, but they will leave and never come back if they are served a perfectly made cocktail by someone they didn't like. Be friendly, attentive, and have a sense of humor. Up your mixology game to take it to the next level, but remember to stay humble and not let your knowledge go to your head. This is a recipe for success. #bartender #barhacks #nostrpleb
