Bartender Hack- When you see your coworker drowning behind the stick, don't be the person who asks what you can do to help. Instead, look to see what needs to be done and do it. Most commonly, refilling ice bins, washing glassware or bar tools, and back stocking any low items will suffice to bail out your coworker and get the shift back to smooth sailing.
Those fruit flies are breeding somewhere. Put the fruit in the fridge, clean the whole area, and if they persist, look for where else you can keep clean that they are breeding. If you find a slimy gunk, that is where the eggs were laid, and you can keep that cleaned often to not have them lay eggs there anymore.

I know the SEC can delay the decision on the ETFs, and that they take them in order. My question, is can they delay one decision, then make a decision on a different one. Literally, can they delay ARK's petition even if they planned on approving, then approve Blackrock's before they approve ARK's? Or do they have to go exactly in order of who filed first? I think I understand ARK filed first and Blackrock second...
USA playing as a team here, stringing together passes and using the whole field. Sweden looking strong on counter attacks and set pieces. Go USA! Great game so far!
Watching the USA world cup match this morning with a cup of coffee. I hope you all have a great day. #nostrplebs
On sobriety and restaurant work--
I'm a 12 stepper, a bartender and restaurant manager, a father, and a husband. I have a little over 4 years of sobriety under my belt, and I'm still a damn good bartender that has a blast being good at that job. Sobriety has certainly upped my financial and time management, and has propelled my responsibilities behind the scenes at work where I also take the role of operations manager today. Some people can drink responsibly, but I tended to fail at that. In the service industry it is commonplace to go out after work for a drink, and too often that turned into getting hammered for me. I know a lot of service industry folks deal with this struggle. I just wanted to testify that it is possible to work in that environment and be sober. I get more fulfillment at work and at home living a sober life. My sense of humor is strongly in tact, and my life is far from boring. It is less complicated after putting down the drink, and that has been a blessing. Different people have different paths for dealing with sobriety, but the book "Breathing Under Water" by Richard Rohr was instrumental for me. If anyone needs to hear it, I am proof you can work in the service industry and be sober. Cheers, and much love ⎕. #bartender #sobriety #nostrplebs
Bartender vs Mixologist
These terms sometimes get confused. Mixology is the art of creating drink recipes, making syrups and juices, setting up the bar for success, and making the drink for the guest. Bartending is the act of conversing with guests and aiming to create an atmosphere the guests will enjoy. My mentor has a quote: "Mixology ends at the end of the cocktail napkin. Everything else is bartending." Bartending is more important than mixology, as a guest will forgive an incorrectly made drink if they like the bartender, but they will leave and never come back if they are served a perfectly made cocktail by someone they didn't like. Be friendly, attentive, and have a sense of humor. Up your mixology game to take it to the next level, but remember to stay humble and not let your knowledge go to your head. This is a recipe for success. #bartender #barhacks #nostrpleb
Bartending Hack- Batch Drinks: When creating a drink menu, take a few of the cocktails and measure to batch the nonperishable spirits. Don't include any juices or bitters in your batches, but add those per drink. Lets say your cocktail is The Last Word, which is equal parts (3/4 oz each) gin, green chartreuse, maraschino liqueur, and fresh squeezed lime juice. By batching the gin, chartreuse, and maraschino together, you will only need to pour two things instead of 4- 2.25 oz of the batch, and 3/4 oz of lime juice. This will speed up the process. Note-- when using bitters or juices, the taste is intensified in batches and doesn't produce the same consistent flavor by following the recipe of a single cocktail. While you could batch those to taste and adjust accordingly, I suggest simply keeping bitters and juices separate and adding per drink made. #bartender #barhacks #nostrpleb
A few thoughts meant to be questions open for discussion. First, today I only buy bitcoin, and no other cryptos. When I first got into crypto, the gateway for me was chainlink. I wasn't looking for understanding a broken system and a possible fix, but just to find something as an investment early enough with enough possibility of huge upside. This led me to study the crypto world, and over time I became orange pilled. Where I still get tripped up is the ethos among maxi's that all other coins are a scam or useless. I am not saying I believe any or all other blockchain technology based companies will ultimately be successful, but the idea that the future is set and they will all definitely be doomed intuitively seems off to me. I certainly believe companies will continue to be good investments over time, and it would reason to believe some of those companies may be crypto companies using other chains. And I see those companies are centralized, and that as a money, bitcoin solved the problem of centralization, distribution, and security. I also understand scalability in bitcoin is being solved in layers. And I get bitcoin isn't a company, but an open source protocol, which is one reason it is superior as a money. I like the argument by analogy with the internet (open to all) vs intranet (has gatekeepers), and bitcoin is the internet, while other crypto projects often have gatekeepers. But the use of intranets, while proven not to be the main value of the internet, are still in existence and used by corporations all over the world, and do hold value. I see all the technical critiques against crypto as alternatives to bitcoin as sound, but the critique that because a blockchain company doesn't operate on top of bitcoin that it is going to fail simply because it doesn't operate on top of bitcoin is the stumbling stone for me. Not enough of a stumbling stone to cause me to buy other projects, as I believe in the future of bitcoin is a given and can't say that about any other project. Just that I have a hard time believing all other projects are definitely going to zero. I am open to articles and direction on this topic, and look forward to any dialogue on the situation. #nostrplebs nostr:npub1s5yq6wadwrxde4lhfs56gn64hwzuhnfa6r9mj476r5s4hkunzgzqrs6q7z nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a nostr:npub1tftc33ttam85wraffce62cgtvvjrmttquqlv6a0agtfm5nl4vues82xar5
I buy a little bitcoin everyday, and that brings me peace of mind. I started this on December 21, 2021, so I am in that area of new to bitcoin, but have cold storage that has only ever been added to, and never sold, putting my modest holdings in the illiquid supply for on chain analysts. There are an ever growing group of us plebs. Stay humble and stack sats 🔥!
