I think Bitcoins biggest problems can only be solved with competition. Mining centralisation, self custodial scaling solutions and privacy won't improve if everyone is blindly committed to Bitcoin only.
I think the opposite is true. All of those things will improve *because* of maximalism. Conviction leads to adoption which drives innovation over time.
I think it's pretty clear that Bitcoin has won and is the protocol of value that is being built upon.
However, there is a risk that it becomes captured by banks who also own the miners and force KYC and censorship on it. the risk of losing their investment depends on there being viable alternatives.
Bitcoin privacy has never been more important and necessary than it is right now.
