Yes it's closed source. I've already stressed with Oscar the growing importance of a change here, especially now that they're moving to a place of storing secrets.
They're already working on NIP46 implementation so you can use the Nostr stuff without entering an nsec into the closed source app. As soon as they do that I'll gladly recommend it.
