Bitcoin mining maple sap heater, a two loop immersion mining system with canola oil as the dielectric fluid running 110v power with a modified power supply!

This sap heater is an improved iteration on the proof of concept system from last season. It's getting 3x the hashrate with the same power consumption in a much more compact design saving tons of space. Huge improvement!

Now that the sugaring season is over, I've repurposed this mobile immersion unit to aid in growing the cannabis starts this spring. I have future plans to integrate it into my solar power system this summer for some more wacky experimental use cases. More to come on this mining contraption!

**Bitcoin mining bottom heat cold frame growing cannabis seedlings**

Last season, I used a custom 110v single board s19 miner to heat the cold frame where I grow cannabis seedings. This season, the system has been upgraded to use the mobile canola oil "hashcan" which was initially built for maple syrup production.

An open water loop using PEX buried with sand and distributes heat from the hashcan into the ground warming the plants at the root zone instead of the air. Once the cannabis is planted in the rabbit colony, I intend to use this cold frame system for rooting soft wood cuttings this summer.

Interesting, since I start my seedlings indoors with an inefficient LED I never have issues with cold temperatures. But this is an awesome setup if you have limited indoor space.

**Selecting cold hardy cannabis sprouts to establish in the Bitcoin mining bottom heat cold frame**

After making bubble hash this winter to find straggler cannabis seeds, the cannabis tailings were tossed out into the pasture in a paper bag. Inevitably there were still some seeds that weren't found. Only the most cold hardy sprouts survived and these are the seedlings which are now transplanted in the cold frame.

The cannabis production is about as low input as you can get for a system. Seeds, soil, and pots are all from right here at the homestead. A 50/50 mixture of sand and chicken composted horse manure is filled in repurposed 1 gallon vinegar jugs, then the sprouts are transplanted and placed in the cold frame to grow until strong enough to be planted out in the rabbit colony cannabis garden.
