I really never thought we would see the day where Assange was freed. Why? I'm not sure but this is what I think and have heard others say.

1. The US had more to lose than gain by going to trial

2. The US wasn't going to look good coming out of a trial

3. Biden's team advised to get ahead of Trump by taking Assange off the board(maybe a stretch)

What do you think? I'm sure there are other theories. Regardless, I'm very happy for Assange and his family. What has been done to this man is evil. Exposing the crimes of the elite is journalism. What we typically see called journalism is propaganda. Assange was central to exposing the empire's evil actions. Those that attacked him for exposing Hillary Clinton's dirty laundry should be marked. They are state shills. They are not journalists or advocates for democracy. They support the permanent state machine.

I also didn’t expect his release. Figured he’d get Epstein’d.

Yeah, pretty clear that is what many expected including him.

There's a version of option 3 that I heard being discussed and squares with the recent reports that Wikileaks is scrubbing their remaining confidential US data.

The idea is that Trump had previously attempted to get information from Wikileaks that would have been very damaging to the regime, but Wikileaks wouldn't give it. Now that it looks like Trump will become president again, they wanted to head of the possibility of him being able to get that information this time.

That sounds plausible and interesting. I seriously doubt that Assange / Wikileaks used everything they have on the US. If they were smart they would have something to bargain with.
