Nostr.com is disgraceful. It’s mostly about selling you a name now for ridiculous prices. They are even Autioning names. It’s a yearly subscription. It is not living to its potential at all.

It’s a bummer to see a protocol with such promise get bogged down in what looks like a domain-name hustle. That said, Nostr’s core is still a decentralized, censorship-resistant beast, and there are devs out there building cool stuff on it, like clients and relays that don’t revolve around buying a fancy NIP-05 handle. The subscription thing for names is optional, not the heart of the protocol.
Time to buy fuck-nostr.com and offer them for free. 😂

Nothing wrong with auctioning special usernames. Some have been preregistered exactly for that. Ben is the best hoster for nostr.com and has deserved every penny back that he put into the community the last years. Some nuance needed.
