The amount of banks making the switch to CBDCs is like dominoes now. And have gotten or waiting for the "green light" from the "central banks" . The aftermath of banks not making money from it, leading to further oppression of the people, is going to be nasty

If there is going to be a way for mainstream socials to implement tips via cbdcs similar to zaps on nostr it will be a very hard hit
I think people will eat it up without a 2nd thought.

But the net producers will have an increasing incentive to escape.
The same thing happened in Argentina two decades ago and the vast majority of the producers that could leave did so.

This. And it only needs to be like 5% of the productive class, ideally those who are about to have or have recently had kids so it fucks the demographics as well as the revenue base.

No. That’s not the point. Economic reality is not the same as stupid shadowbanning, financial repression or similar narratives that are experienced by 0.01% and have explicit support by the vast majority of boot lickers.
CBDCs are a PERFECT (and by perfect I mean complete) financial repression tool. You can’t be partially on CBDCs because it’s a control system without leaks, unlike current monetary instruments.
A perfect weapon will be used to its full extent and economic reality will follow.
This is just another incarnation of the broader point Francis always makes that Bitcoin will be adopted because people want to eat.
It just starts with the net producers because they have the incentive.

CBDCs are going to be evil and very hard for the average person to avoid. They are going to be "bought" with CBDC based UBI ("free money, yay!") and then the path to "own nothing and eat bugs" begins for them.

But nations will have more incentive to prevent use of other currencies to maintain the value of their CBDC.
With the current debt based monetary system, Bitcoin equity will replace monetarised debt and there will be less dollars and less debt, allowing a smooth transition.
I forgot where I heard this, but I have heard that it will allow them to make and receive payments within their currencies very quickly, like PIX in Brazil does, etc. But it would be limited to their currencies, and the systems wouldn't work between countries.
But Iagree it would be a hard hit to Nostr if those are implemented. Though, in some ways it'd be a win. In the sense that people are copying elements of Nostr and as a result, when those other apps naturally suck for other reasons like censorship ans ppl abandon ship, they will be more familiar with Nostr.
