A lot of times it’s not the phone or the available technology that’s the problem, it’s people. Isn’t it always, anyway.

You can minimise your use and dumb down your phone by using self control. Many would obviously say that’s difficult in practice so people try to use different tools to help curb that *cough* addiction.

So I don’t always agree when we blame technology or some algorithm for the madness. We only have ourselves that’s WE have control over.

Is it the phone, is it the technology or the need to stay connected and knowing what is going on around?

I think that need was intensified by the availability and accessibility of tech. That need is in human nature to connect just on madness levels.

So it might be difficult to stay away from your phone. Fortunately i use more my computer 🤣🤣🤣

It’s a common problem that needs to be tamed and controlled by no one else but the individual.

Why is that so obvious to many of us, but not so much the majority of us?!

There is a shortage of smarts, methinks. Maybe lack of concern and awareness.

You are 💯 on the smarts. It began in the school systems, about at least 20 years ago. These students are now "adults". While many were impacted in the younger generations, there are equally as many who have managed to seek and learn on their own. I'm optimistic bc I see many of them on this platform and I encounter some IRL as well.

It just seems worse then it is bc the ones that promote the senseless ideas usually have louder mics and bigger platforms and followings.

They are getting amplified by a media that leans in their direction. There are many loud common sense voices out there but the overlords don’t agree with them.

💯🎯 the incentive structures are such that it makes profitable for them in the short term.

An easy way is turn off notifications to stop the addiction of instant gratification.
